What You'll Create

Unpredictable. Messy. Random. Unique. Beautiful.

These are just some of the words people have used to describe fluid artwork.

Handmade Pride’s signature artwork piece is the humble clock, made from old vinyl records which were destined for landfill. The artwork on the clocks is created using a fluid art technique called acrylic pouring, meaning the result is random and unique.

At our fluid art class, you'll learn four different fluid art techniques on canvas, before using your favourite technique on a blank record.

You'll learn about colour selection, colour mixing and some secrets of the pouring techniques. You will leave the class full of knowledge, and hopefully with an appetite to create more!

Your creations are left at our venue to dry, and after a week, the records are coated with a coat of clear resin, before a silent mechanism is attached. Then your new upcycled clock is ready to hang proudly in your home!

This workshop is for all skill levels, and you don't need any prior knowledge. All you need is a willingness to get messy and have some fun :-D

Please note: Due to the paint technique, the artwork will be ready two weeks after the workshop, so you won't be able to take them with you on the day. The canvases will be varnished to protect the art and give it some shine, and the clocks will be coated with resin before a silent mechanism is attached. We will arrange delivery (within the Perth metro area only).

Due to the paint technique, we recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty, as the paint techniques can be a bit unpredictable and acrylic paint can stain.
